Oslo's original food hall in a 1908 iron foundry on the Akerselva, thirty-odd artisan stalls, importers and counters under one roof. Come hungry, leave with groceries. Mathallen combines specialist food shops, cafés and restaurants under one roof, with vendors for meat, fish, cheese, baking, dessert and drinks. The hall publishes Tuesday–Saturday 10:00–20:00 and Sunday 11:00–18:00, while some eateries stay open longer.

Located along the Akerselva river at Brenneriet, you will find the classic Sunday market at Blå. Every single Sunday, the street fills with stalls selling everything from handmade jewelry, ceramics, and knitwear to second hand clothes, vintage treasures, and vinyl records. It is a great spot if you are looking for lovely decor items for your home, unique birthday or Christmas gifts, or other niche finds you won't trace in regular chain stores. The area has a special charm with colorful street art covering every wall. You can easily combine browsing the market stalls with grabbing a coffee or a beer by the riverfront, or picking up a bite to eat nearby. It is completely free to walk around, making it just as ideal for a low key Sunday outing on your own as it is for a casual loop with friends.
