Åpent Bakeri runs the daytime café at Tranen, on the corner by Alexander Kiellands plass. The counter offers bread, pastries and coffee, while the kitchen menu adds egg dishes, sandwiches, salads and pancakes. It works for an early coffee stop or a longer breakfast, with several vegetarian options on the food menu. The bakery café closes at 16:00; Lofthus Samvirkelag takes over with pizza in the evening. Treat those as two different visits when planning your meal, as the menus and service hours change.

PAN by Bread ’N Butter brings Japanese-inspired baking and brunch to Sandakerveien. Alongside sweet pastries, melonpan and Japanese cheesecake, the menu includes filled sandos, bao and rice bowls. That gives you a choice between a small coffee break and a more substantial lunch. The café’s published hours run from Tuesday to Sunday, with Monday closed. Brunch finishes at 15:00, before the bakery closes, so come earlier if the savoury menu is the reason for your visit. The selection may vary through the day.
