Baker Nordby at Kiellands Hus is a bakery and café for bread, buns, cakes and a coffee break near Alexander Kiellands plass. The family bakery traces its history to 1908 and makes sourdough bread as well as traditional sweet baking. This branch sits just inside the shopping centre’s main entrance. Its menu also includes filled sandwiches and warm toast, so it can cover a simple lunch as well as something sweet. Check the counter for the day’s selection before choosing what to take home.

Åpent Bakeri at Lillo gård is a daytime stop for freshly baked bread, pastries and coffee from the bakery’s own roastery. The café also makes sandwiches, which makes it useful for breakfast or a straightforward lunch in the Lillo neighbourhood. The branch opens early on weekdays and later at weekends, with service ending in the afternoon. It is a different venue from nearby Lille Ó: come here for the bakery counter and coffee, and check the daily selection if you want to bring bread home.
